The other day after a walk, my husband and I stopped in at A New Leaf in Old Town, one of my favorite flower shops.

Every once in a while, we have a foggy day in Chicago, which I really enjoy. About a week ago, this lovely fog enwreathed Streeterville, vaporizing the tops of its skyscrapers.

Our return flight to Chicago from Seattle was long and rocky.
Goodbye, Seattle
Our flight was badly delayed on Friday, and we ended up spending almost eight hours at Sea-Tac airport. By the time we took off, it was getting to be twilight. Time for one last picture by way of goodbye.
A balanced view of Seattle
I feel at home in Seattle without really knowing the city. It’s because we always stay in the same place and do the same things while we’re in town:
From the Olympic
From our room in the Olympic, I can see up and down Seneca Street. We stay in the same room every time we come to Seattle, so I’m getting to know the views. I’ve decided that I like the austere skyscraper I can see up the street. It’s the Crowne Plaza Hotel, I discovered later.

The evening bell might as well be ringing, calling us to abandon our work and adore the glories of the created world.

In Seattle, it’s spring, with emerald grass, and tulips and star magnolias blooming.
Flying west
Sometimes flying west, we’re lucky enough to get a clear day, when it’s possible to see the ground between Chicago and Seattle.
