It’s best not to be in a hurry when you’re bound for the Loop. Surprises await on its decrepit streets. The only thing missing this time was an emergency visit from a SWAT team or something. Next time I will record the soundtrack coming from the dump trucks, bulldozers, stopped traffic, and trains.

Yes, the photo captures the hub-bub of quite a busy and complex situation……..I like the gravel mound and dump truck the tractor is dealing with.

It’s one deep hole. As of yesterday, there was an elaborate wooden framework sticking up out of the street, presumably to keep the whole surface from caving in. A big problem in Chicago now is caving streets, though it’s nothing compared to our problem with gun violence.
