In the afternoon, the shadows of tall buildings fall across the lakefront. This is the beach at Jane Addams Park, as seen from a bus.
The shadows gradually lengthen across the sand and water. . . . Here there looks to be a photographer standing on the shadow line.
Harley says
I like those photos–nice contrast between the color of the lake near the beach and the deeper water. However, I couldn’t see the shadows of the tall buildings on the lake.
Celia says
The darker band of water near the beach is the shadow of a building. . . you can see it falling on the sand around the lifeguard’s chair as well. Yes, it could easily have been a reflection of depth, but it’s not. . . . If you look carefully at the lake in the early evening when skies are clear, you will see many such. If I weren’t on the bus, perhaps I could take a better picture where the silhouettes of the buildings were clearer. . . perhaps that is what the photographer on the beach was after? I will never know.
