Families roll out of bed on Saturday and head for the farmers’ market in Lincoln Park. The kids run while parents buy produce and pick up a plein air breakfast to eat on the lawn. It’s about as low-key as city life gets. I like the communal look of so many people quietly eating at once.

Yes, I like that look too. Makes it seem like a smaller town hanging out on a lovely summer day. Nice photo. (Though, I think I see some long sleeves there).

Lori–Can you believe it was only 60-some degrees that day? Even today it is unseasonably cool.
The farmers’ market is unusually come-as-you-are–I think you would like some of the food that’s on offer. There is an Italian lady named Adriana who make little apple-cider doughnuts and savory hand-pies.

Sounds like pleasant weather and good food. I’ll be back home with Mom in the burbs in a little over 30 days. 🙂
Celia says
What’s on your to-do list, I’m wondering? Have a great time!
Lori D says
Right now, no list. Just going to be glad to be back home with family and friends.
Celia says
There is nothing better than a good family visit!

I’ve been to that mkt a few times and have always found it to be a pleasant experience. I like the casualness of it, too. You forgot to mention that a lot of folks bring their dogs. What a show indeed! That is a nice photo.
Celia says
True. I saw several adorable dogs Saturday, and one puppy who was fast asleep.
