I’ve actually been to Drier’s in Three Oaks and that old butcher shop is a National Historic building. It has been run by the same family for generations and now a great grandaughter of probably the founder is running it with her daughter.

The “in-town” shop is even quainter (and far older) than the one pictured, and you are right the family is still there staffing the shop–there must be other family members behind the scenes, managing all the butchery and sausage-making, too. I haven’t eaten all of Drier’s wares, but I have had the hot dogs and I think the veal brats which (if not better than those from the Paulina Market) are nonetheless very very good.
Worth a stop if one is visiting in the vicinity!
