Another picture of East Lake Shore Drive in the fog. We were on our way to have dinner at the Drake. This part of the Gold Coast has a very staid aura, which the thick fog only accentuated. The old stone facades and manicured aprons were oozing repose.
Then, from the fog, two roller skaters emerged.

I was actually on the water taxi at this time, and it was so eerie being out on the lake and not being able to see any of the city!

Wow–that must have been something. I wanted to take more pictures: we drove past the beach volleyball at the Lake after dinner–it was like something out of a Bergman movie. And before dinner we had drinks at the rooftop bar of the Hotel Lincoln–it was something like being in an open-air airplane surrounded by clouds. . . . Did you take any pictures?

Oh wow – that must have been pretty crazy sitting up there with the fog! The weather has been so crazy lately! I did take photos, but I have yet to download them from my iphone…!

it was crazy. and the weather IS crazy. luckily, despite the cool temps this week, the lakefront is beginning to come alive, with beach volleyball starting up and people really enjoying themselves, which is good to see.

I didn’t even realize it until now: fog is one of those things I really do miss!

And a foggy beach is ultra-cool–I wish I’d gotten some pictures of the lakefront that day.
