A spirit of enjoyment hung over the South Pond this weekend. The trees and grass are finally green, and Chicagoans were out enjoying the fresh air and the season’s many beauties and delights. We have seldom seen the South Pond looking so lovely, with many children and adults ambling along the boardwalk, stopping to look at turtles, ducklings, and fish. Other folks, less ambitious, lay on the grass, looking up at the azure sky.

That does indeed look to be a very nice day near the pond. I like how green the grass is and the shadows from the trees. A great and happy spring picture !

It was such a treat to have fine weather on the holiday weekend! The South Pond is making a comeback after its bare-bones renovation a few years ago.
