Nice clear photos ! Mmmmmm an old port, must have tasted very good—–at a restaurant probably would be unable to get it……….Good old Santa—-never can go wrong with him ! And, what a great picture of a beautiful flower !

Harley, yes, that port was all too delicious! I appreciated it all the more because (like most apartment dwellers) I don’t have any easy way to cellar wine. I don’t know how my friend managed to keep this 1977 bottle in such good shape for so long. (They say all you need is a well-insulated box, and that’s good enough if you have air conditioning, but I don’t.)
Drinking port makes me nostalgic because my Dad began keeping a wonderful cellar when I was a kid, and I have happy memories of drinking a small glass of port with my family when I was older, as on rare occasions when I managed to get away from college for a weekend and visit home with some friends.
