Yes, snow has been very sparse around Chicago and much of the central Midwest. According to the National Weather Service, the area is still suffering from a drought.

The summer was scary enough–this is worse because in a way it’s less noticeable. The trees will begin to die soon if we don’t get more precipitation. And food prices will be astronomical if this summer is droughty.
