Lori, when you are able to visit Chicago again, its many Italian restaurants and delis will be waiting for you!

Love it! Thank you, Celia, for this lovely thought, and for always bringing me home with your photos. 🙂

You’re welcome, Lori. Have a great weekend! I hope another Italian grocer opens up near you soon–that was a heart-breaking post–it’s sad to lose such a place that you rely on.
Lori D says
Thanks again. You have a great weekend too!

Hey Miss Celia, Can you reveal this restaurant so we can check out my table when we travel there in the fall?
Celia says
It’s the upstairs of the Italian Village in the Loop, an old stand-by. There are many more upscale places to eat Italian, but this has one of the best wine cellars, and great old atmosphere.
I haven’t been down to Little Italy for years, but I did eat not too long ago at La Scarola, which I really enjoyed. (It’s out near Grand and Milwaukee, if I remember correctly.) I understand the nearby Piccolo Sogno, with its outdoor garden, is very romantic but you have to arrange a reservation far in advance to eat out there. . . .

Cool! Thanks.

The restaurant looks familiar—Hmmmm. I’ll study the picture some and maybe the name might come to me.
Celia says
The perpetual twilight of the Village is, for me, its hallmark.
